App Rejected... :( .....

Gutted ! Binary Rejected Feb 15, 2012 04:04 PM Reasons for Rejection: 2.12: Apps that are not very useful, are simply web sites bundled as apps, or do not provide any lasting entertainment value may be rejected Feb 15, 2012 04:04 PM. From Apple. 2.12 We found that the features and/or content of your app did not appeal to a broad enough audience, to be in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. We understand that there are no hard and fast rules to define this but it can be helpful to look at the apps featured on the App Store to get a feel for the type of experience our users expect. We encourage you to review your app concept and evaluate whether you can incorporate different content and features that are in compliance with the Guidelines. I do alot of photography for weddings/portraits etc etc My app has many galleries and sample dvd's we create, what we offer, about us & contact us section with locational map. Any recommendations to how i can resend with the chance of being approved. Maybe just leaving as a gallery app? Annoyingly i can see other apps very similar on the appstore when i search the word 'photography'.

you are appeal the decision if you feel it was unfairly done. Considering its buzztouch you could also add some more native features, then when it is approved simply remove them from the app leaving your current app

Ahhh - so sorry mate. Don't give up - it will only make the eventual acceptance even better.

I feel your pain buddy. There may be other apps out there that look like yours but it all depends on the reviewer, when it was submitted (they are looking for more advanced apps now since the App Store is fairly well populated) and so on. Appeals can take a long time, I'd be more inclined - not sure what your app does - to add some more interactive functionality to it. Drop in a quiz, add a user photo upload gallery, these are native to Buzztouch. You say you do weddings and what not, add a gallery where people can share their own special day. You can do this via gallery option on BT and grab yourself a Flickr API so folks can email in images to you. You'll get it in. Keep smiling and BT'ing!

First thing I would have said was to add a location map, and it might help, but you got one. The quizes seem to get everyone in, but it's silly to compromise your app with something that has nothing to do with your business. What I would do is consider adding more screens, even if its custom HTML screens. Just make sure they are all very clean. I would also consider the photo upload. Perhaps this is an area that could be unique about your business where you can have people send you photos for whatever reason.. ie planning ahead for weading, or incorporating attendee photos into a cool project. I'd be curious to hear how many overall screens your app had. It is often times just the reviewer's mood and opinion.. Again another reason I am an android man. Best of luck.

agree with suggestions- you could add a quiz about camera/photography history or maybe a quiz on some photography techniques like Saturation, Rule of 3rds, etc... definately add the gallery so folks can upload to you and then take it to the next level with this: http://www.aviary.com/ i'm designing an app like this for the wife with a photo gallery. someone pointed me to that aviary site and i'm trying to find time to tinker with it. maybe we can both tinker and share. i bet that in your app would get it approved right quick......

^^ sweet. i'm almost done getting my BT server set-up so i can try that out Aviary out next. it does look pretty awesome, like your own mini instagram. the wife must have close to 100 Photo editing apps on her ipad. amazingly a lot of them are not ipad compatible yet. i showed her that, told her it it looked like something has a native ipad interface and she's dying to see it in action. good luck, may it integrate quickly and seemlessly!

Initial fear with it would be that they could be doing a bait in switch where they provide a sweet service for your app, then you offer it, and all of a sudden they want some monies to use their api keys. Luckily the app I'll be using it for is seasonal, so if I can get it implemented and eventually costs money, I just nuke it later for next year. FYI I'll be working specifically on Android first, if someone wants to dig in on iOS. Goal is to self implement. I wish there was a bit of info on developing plugins for server... Might have to examine some other plugins. Would much rather code for the good of all, but I just now started grasping android programming.

great ideas thanks! ive now implemented a public gallery where users can upload their own pics. the aviary looks awesome but abit beyond me. might let you all try it first and then i can ask the 100 questions :) a quiz doesnt really fit my app, although i do love them. this is the only app so far i havent put one in. any other thoughts?

Public gallery should stand you in good stead, Apple get funny (rightly so on some occasions) about apps that are just providing self promotion for a company with no user interactivity.

Hello! I have the same problem with my application (10.6) ... It has been rejected many times. I've made several improvements suggested by the App Review Team, but unfortunately returned today to reject. I ask you to help solve my problem. You can see screenshots at: http://www.inforneris.com/screens/screenshots.html Thank you! Emanuel

Hi Guys, with regards to the statement below from Zackamo "I would also consider the photo upload. Perhaps this is an area that could be unique about your business where you can have people send you photos for whatever reason.. ie planning ahead for weading, or incorporating attendee photos into a cool project. " is there a plugin on buzztouch that does this? i cant seem to find it? thanks
