Thank god for apple !!

Just wanted to post and say that i cant believe how easy it is to work using xcode. I wouldnt have said that about a month ago but the tutorials on here have helped me alot and ive got my first app submitted without any more help than the tutorials provided. (Still waiting for review though since the 8th feb...quite nervous as its my first....like losing your virginity all over again! lol) As for Android :'( Eclipse, android, the whole thing is just confusing and im losing the will to live ! After about 4 nights solid and an unhappy wife....especially last night on valentines day :) ive finally managed to see my icon on the android virtual machine.... My gallery crashed though so im not sure whats wrong there and i'll get back to searching the forum. Seems like a few have the same issue but it also seems like @David fixed on 3rd jan but i had the problem after downloading source code 2 nights ago. Im having second thoughts about trying to release my apps on both platforms after this experience but im sure it can only get easier?? im hoping to post again soon to say my app has been approved so watch this space..... any help on the gallery would be much appreciated. i dont have a copy of the error message at the moment but maybe i'll post it later on here if anyone is interested. Thanks for listening :)

Complete opposite for me, I was built in 30 minutes from start to finish for android. It took me a couple days to get to the same place for Apple. However to each their own. My very biased view is as follows. Apple Deving - Once you have your dev account, provisioned every phone that will need to test your app, and have all your certificates and understand what each is for, then at this point XCODE was easy. I do think its expensive, and the process to get on the app store is annoying, and inconsistent. To dev for apple easily*, you pretty much need to own an iphone, and a mac.. Yes you could do it without either these, but it does become a nusance very quickly. Android - Yes setting up the dev environment isn't as straight forward. However you can set it up on all the three major computing platforms. You don't hae to provision test phones or equipment. You can sent test apk's to friends and devices easily, and the final signing process is fairly easy. Not to mention instant upload to market. Yes we could talk about quality of apps, but I feel like reviews themselves and downloads does the sifting for users. Just my two cents

I guess it is each to their own. I think it's because I'm an iPhone user so I'm being bias to them :) I think once I have my first android app uploaded I'll be happy. Just got to work out how to fix the issues I have first..... But the AppStore submission is definately annoying/long winded!

My guide to Buzztouch will help you with Android. Today I texted a link to a new app to someone because I couldn't install to my phone. It installed to their phone. Identify the problem as my phone not the app. That's easily done with Android, not so easy with iOS. So I'd say for most Android is a better platform to start with, but as you noted you're an Apple user. Fred

@Bonzo, The v1.5 android gallery still has some bugs, so you may see problems with using image gallery in android..just a heads up :)

Congratulations! Could you submit your app to the showcase? https://www.buzztouchmods.com/photogallery.php?album_id=1 Cheers, David. buzztouchmods.com
