Custom URL Webpages - Popup boxes not work

When accessing a Custom URL Webpage (mobile optimised), the Popup boxes (eg confirmation to delete) do not work, but work ok when the web page URL is used directly in the phones browser (Using HTC desire. Buzztouch v1.4) Is there any solution to this or suggestions how this should be designed in the web page? Thanks for any help on this.

Hi @hopster, Hmmm...you would think they would work either way. But the web view that the app uses my be slightly different than the one the native browser uses, and that might account for things. With v1.4, you're somewhat limited here. Everything has to be called from the web, so there's no way to specify a local HTML file, including the Javascript that likely drives the popup. If you were using v1.5, you could have a local HTML file, including Javascript, and I bet it would work. I see you're a v1.5 Early Adopter. Have you tested to see if the same behavior is present in v1.5? Mark

Thanks Mark - I've looked at v1.5 a couple times and always retreated back to v1.4! Simplicity of use doesn't seem to be its strong point to me. Chris

Hi Chris, Well, v1.4 is for sure a bit more simple to use from the perspective of creating an app than v1.5. However, I think the simplicity of v1.4 also illustrates just how much more powerful v1.5 is with the things you can do. So much more versatility and flexibility. Anyway, would still be interesting to see if this works in v1.5 or not. Are you able to share the URL you are using, so I can give it a try? I have a v1.5 test app that I could throw it into pretty easily. Mark

Thanks for further thoughts Mark. I hobbled together an app to test the Custom URL Webpage on v1.5 and no difference, the popup box (a confirmation to delete) did not work. But still works fine when used directly on the mobile browser I wonder if there is another way of doing the check rather than using the popup box? Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, What exactly are you prompting the user to do? Delete what? Mark

Mark, here's an example page I came across to prove the point: http://www.crowderassoc.com/javascript/confirm.html When using this link on my mobile browser and I click on the Hot Web site button - the pop up works When using this link as a Custom URL Webpage in a Buzztouch app (v1.4.or 1.5) it does not popup. chris
