I am doing an app for a band and feel it would be a cool feature if fans could pin point where they are from on a map. Pretty similar to what 1.5 does when you login and see where buzz touch is being used. Is this possible to put in an app with BT server?

The Buzz Map within the applicaiton would actually do what I need. I wouldn't need them to pinpoint a location if the app automatically tracked them upon download and install like it does with BT 1.5 Thanks in advance.

Hmmm There are some very complicated ways of doing this.. You could even build a separate app for them to pass the data to a server for you, and retrieve for your fan app. However I would poke around Latitude. Google's Tracking Social service. I am willing to bet you could embed a Latitude Map in customHTML page (i have done latitude embeds before on actual sites), and just have the band turn on Latitude (app/service on their phone) when they want to be tracked. By doing and embed in a Custom HTML page, when the band was off the road, you could take out the map embed and put perhaps the next tour date. Just my initial two cents on doing it as quickly as possible, with very very little work.

Another possibility is to use google my maps. Not sure it would work just throwing out the possibility. Fred

I appreciate the responses. I am going to explore the links. Honestly what BT is doing with the Buzz Map in 1.5 is exactly what I wish I could do. That automatically places a pinpoint for the people who download the app.

@zackamo I see what your saying and that would actually work in that aspect. I wasn't clear enough in my initial post. This isn't to allow fans to know where the band is, but rather other fans to see on a map where all fans reside in the world.
