BT Server cannot compile, menu_list_checkbox and checkboxView

In BT_Screen_Settings_Device.Java childItemAdapter, I get red x's next to 2 menu_list_checkbox cannot be resolved or is not a field; and 1 checkboxView cannot be resolved or is not a field. Just installed BT Server 1.5, this is the first time trying to compile with Eclipse. Any idea's?

Used Menu Simple, Menu Buttons and Custom URL. I was leaning towards the Menu Buttons as the culprit.

Just noticed you said Server 1.5, that's a contradiction it's either 1.5 or Server™(v2.0) (currently 2.1.6). It creates confusion to say Server 1.5. I'm using all the plugins you referenced, no problem. Try Andriod tools, if not redownload source code. Is this the first app you've created with BTv2.0? Has anyone else used the server to create an app/ Fred

Sorry, BT Server 2.0 rel 2.1.6 I made the app again without the Menu Buttons and still did the same thing. I am the only one using the server and this is the first app. Android tools, fix project properties does nothing. Redownloading source code does nothing. This is the code with three red X errors: public ChildItemAdapter(Activity context, List<ChildItemsDataModel> list) { super(context, R.layout.menu_list_checkbox, list); <----menu_list_checkbox this.context = context; this.list = list; } private class ViewHolder { protected TextView text; protected CheckBox checkbox; } @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { View view = null; final int selectedIndex = position; if (convertView == null) { LayoutInflater inflator = context.getLayoutInflater(); view = inflator.inflate(R.layout.menu_list_checkbox, null); <----menu_list_checkbox final ViewHolder viewHolder = new ViewHolder(); viewHolder.text = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.titleView); viewHolder.checkbox = (CheckBox) view.findViewById(R.id.checkboxView); <----checkboxview viewHolder.checkbox.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener(){ It does the same whether I use google api 2.2 or 4.03

Have you used android tools? Have you added images to project? If so read Buzztouch, Eclipse & Images in my guide. Fred

What do you mean by use android tools, I have ran lint, added compatibility library, and fix project properties. I have done everything listed for the 1 image I have. This is a simple 6 menu list app each menu pointing to 6 submenus with 1 custom url for each of those. A simple app to try out the new version. I have had 0 problems with apps in 1.5 and 1.4 and no problem using eclipse.

Create a new app. Simple List menu only. See if you still have the problem. Fred

Exact same thing. Created a simple menu with 3 custom url's. No images, everything default.

If I change the menu_list_checkbox to screen_menulistsimple and change checkboxview to listview I can get it to compile into an apk. But I am thinking I shouldn't have to change those items everytime.

You gave a partial reference to the api. What's the API you're using? I don't have to make those changes so there's definitely a problem. Fred

Just reuploaded current menusimple plugin, no change. BT Server version 2.0 rel 2.1.6 (downloaded and installed 3 days ago) Google API's 2.2 and Google API's 4.0.3 used both at different times with no change. Problem is in /test2/src/com/test/BT_screen_settingsDevice.java, com.test.BT_screen_settingsDevice.ChildItemAdapter

Unusual, I don't have that problem. I would try reinstalling the plugin. One by one. Search the Forum ( there is a search engine on my blog) Then consider reinstalling the server. :-( Fred

Ok, head is spinning- Reinstalled all plugins. No change. Searched the forums- Nothing. I will wait and see if anyone else knows what would cause this before trying to figure out the reinstall of the server. Thanks for trying.

I can't do it today, but try having someone send you some source code to see if that's the problem. Fred

I re-installed Buzztouch Server 2.0. No change in the errors I receive. I deleted all API's except 1.6 and 2.2, and compiled with Google 2.2. I deleted all my apps, built 1 new one with a simple menu and 1 custom url pointing to the buzztouch forums. No change. I get three errors that keep me from compiling no matter what I do, on these three lines of the ChildItemAdapter under BT_screen_settingsDevice: super(context, R.layout.menu_list_checkbox, list); view = inflator.inflate(R.layout.menu_list_checkbox, null); viewHolder.checkbox = (CheckBox) view.findViewById(R.id.checkboxView); Says these three checkboxes cannot be resolved or are not a field. So basically, BT Server 2.0 does not work for me.

Ok, I took a look and the only thing that does not seem to act the same as my server setup is the ADMIN menu SHOW PHP INFO Mine shows the info, yours shows this {result:invalid, message:serverError, fromDavid:Have a look at line 68 config.php in the root of your install, the software is having trouble with your database settings}

I show the php info screen. I get that line 68 thing every now and then, I have just been reloading and it goes away.

SOLVED! Ok that was a scorcher. Deleted all from server and reinstalled with same Database- MISTAKE! So deleted again and deleted Database. Reinstalled in root, created new dbase, had to re-insert server api (this is in your buzztouch.com user info) re-upload some plugins (DO NOT chmod your files directory to 777) Kept getting 500 Internal server errors. chmodded back to 755 all in files directory. Built a new 5 tab app with custom url, downloaded and it compiled without a problem this time. The only thing I can think that was making it do what it was doing with the checkboxes was that the install directory was 1 level up(ie:/apps/BT-server/ ). OR>>>>> There is now no BT Screen Settings Device along with about 10 other BT files in the src/com folder- and beings I have only installed 2 plugins, it may be one of the others I had installed that was doing it. I will add them 1 at a time in the future and compile to see if that is the case. Thanks, Chris
