SDK question

I am new here but please let me know if I got this correct. I have a PC and an iPhone. I cannot use either SDK to download and compile the app I created and test it successfully. From what I am seeing, I would need to get access to a Mac to test on theiPhone or get an android on my current PC for testing..... Is that correct???

Hi Lee, Welcome to buzztouch! You're in for a fun ride! Here's a good document to show you everything you need for either platform : http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Things_You_Need_Before_You_Start_Developing_Apps_v1.0.pdf Basically, for iOS testing, you need a Mac. For Android testing, you can use Mac/Windows/Linux. Let us know if you have any questions! Mark

Hi Lee, Well, you can do Android development on your PC, and use an emulator to test it. Then you can create a test application to send to your daughter, and she can test it on her phone for you. Good Dad-Daughter bonding! For the Mac stuff, I bought a Mac mini for around $200 on Craigslist that satisfies my needs. But, you could have your daughter install LogMeIn or TeamViewer on her Mac, and you could access it remotely for development work, using it when she's not! If you have a PC, there's nothing stopping you from developing and testing applications in a simulator. It's part of the process, so it would not be wasted effort. Here's a guide on how to get things set up: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Setting_Up_Your_Android_Development_Environment_v1.3.pdf Good luck! Mark
