BT-Server questions

I've got a problem BT-server on 000webhost, keep getting problem connecting to database... Had anyone tried BT-server on 000webhost before, if not, is anyone kind enough to give me some suggestions for free web hosting sites that can run BT-server?

What errors are you getting? Can you post a screenshot or tell us the exact message of the error? Are you able to connect to your database via a command line or by accessing phpadmin or similar utilities? The more info you give the better chance we have of helping. I'm hostgator for hosting and that works fine. cheers

000webhost and hostgator should work for sure. i remember some trying it as well. as for me i use hostingways.com (their Germany server): few bucks a month and no issues so far. Lately, I am sure that it is better to spend few bucks a month and get a decent host and not a free one.

I use 000webhost the free account. Have had a few issues with the server being down or just non-responsive at times. Overall its pretty good. What is the specfic error you are getting. Have you tried useing the support email of 000webhost.

The error I got is There was a problem connecting to the database server. Are you sure you entered the proper user credentials? Server is usually localhost, User Name and Password could be just about anything! Ask your server's administrator if you're unsure. I had also tried the support, but they imply that they could help me with the installation only if I upgrade to a premium account. So any idea where the problem lies? I have already setup my database.

Server name will not be localhost. On that free service if you look under the DB settings you will see host name. Use that one in the config file and also when you enter in the path information during the install.

Localhost is your problem. When you you login into the hosting panel go to the icon for MYSQL DB. Click on that and you will see you DB info. It will have your host name info. at the bottom of the MYSQL Manage screen you will see a9999999_plusdb --- a7777777_plusdb ---- mysql99.000webhost.com <------ This is it. That is what goes in place of Localhost The last entry mysql99.000webhost.com Use what yours says it may be differant than what I have

The User account default is mentioned in the PDF. Login Email: [email protected] Login Password: buzztouchpro You then use that to go into BT-server the first time. In the upper right hand corner you will see 3 links... xxxxAcount / Admin / Logout Click the first one and change email address and password. That will be your login info....
