Google Map Empty

Hi there! I have been working on this issue for several days now and I'm unable to correct this problem I'm having. I'm building an Android App on Eclipse which shows our location (I have created a menu item for this in my buzztouch control panel and entered the coordinates there) I have obtained a debug and release key for my Google Map. I have reflected those keys in the strings file. I save and build/run and then a google map appears, with a red pin in the middle but the map is empty. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help!

That's actually the guide I've been using. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm following those directions exactly as they are laid out. Let me double check everything again. Thanks.

I ran through the instructions again, and I'm getting this error in the activity file (when I hit build/run) Map Activity: Couldn't get connection factory client. I'm kind of lost during the debug and release key portion of the instructions and I don't think I'm doing that part right. Any suggestions?

Just reread your original post. I didn't obtain an Google Maps debug API key. You're probably using the debug key somewhere where you should be using the release key. Fred

Yes, where can I find more information on the difference between those 2 keys? I'm sure this is where my problem lies.

I've never created a BTv1.4 map. Here's how someone has done it. On my maps I simply searched the address in Google maps, copied the link provided, and posted to my Wordpress Blog. On the Wordpress Blog I am running Mobilepress MobilePressTurn your WordPress blog into a mobile website/blog. Version 1.1.5 | By Aduity | Visit plugin site Send me your email & I'll forward to them. or search then Forum for solutions. Read Marks guide regarding maps on BT help tab. Post your findings. Fred

I finally got the map to work on the Android emulator within Eclipse. I have very little understanding of this process, but here is what I found that I was doing wrong for the debug key. I had to go to the command prompt and then find the debug folder that was already present within my Documents and Settings/User/.android folder then obtain it's MD5 fingerprint to register with google code. I was not pulling the MD5 fingerprint from the right location. (also, for my version of Java I had to put -v in the Keytool command line) I had no idea what I was doing when I attempted to obtain the fingerprint SO when I put the key that was given to me into the strings file, it was not linking properly. I found several videos on YouTube that were very helpful and walked me through the process. Between the blog you referred me to and those videos I believe I am well on my way to publishing my first app! Thanks for your help!!
