iPhone app different from iPhone simulator

Hi- thanks to this site, I've gotten my app on my iPhone for testing! However, it's different than when I run the simulator in Xcode. Basically it's an older version. Why when I run the iOS simulator it's correct, and when I run on my iPhone it's wrong… isn't it the same project? sorry.. total newb.

It all depends on what version of the OS you are running on. On the build screen I beleive you can set the IOS level and that may help....

May well be a question of device caching. Have you updated the config.txt file in Xcode, done a clean build?

no, how do you update the config file? When I hit refresh on the iPhone app, it then shows the correct information.

OK. Navigate to your control panel, look for apps configuration data and copy this text / code. Once you have copied it move over to Xcode and find the config.txt file and paste it in there and save. Do a clean build and run and you'll be cool. Changes will show when you refresh, that is the norm, it's looking for that file on launch and as you have made changes in the control panel without updating Xcode copy the refresh is required to load latest copy? Make sense?

That did it! Thanks! on a side note, I'm getting a bunch of errors such as 'setStatusBarHidden:animated:' is deprecated and 'MKReverseGeocoder' is deprecated. How do I get rid of these?

Good stuff! None of the BT code is deprecated, all very up to date but ( think this is right) Apple change things so often, and depending when you downloaded the source code, you may get a few of these. Ordinarily they'll not stop you app from being accepted, trust me. Most will be fixed by downloading latest build. Dont't worry about them too much.

@guidoverduci : Sometimes those errors will go away if you build for an older target OS level. I do all my apps built for iOS 3, and I don't see any of those errors at all. Mark
