Rejected again...

I work for a small newspaper and am designing an app for our use. The app does aggregate news, that's what we do. I also have a quiz, photo upload with gallery, and map location. Other functions include various forms of Contact and our news rss feeds. My app has been rejected with all of this. I honestly don't know what more to do. I'm getting the 2.13 rejection reason, but not really understanding why. I feel my app has enough balanced iOS content with a mixture of safari based content. For what we do, the rss news feeds are essential. Anyone have any pointers?

I'm considering resubmitting the app with no changes and hoping that I get a different reviewer. Should I remove some of my aggregating content, then just re-add it once the app is approved? Or would that go noticed and get the app kicked out of principal?

ususally they send a notice why it was rejected... did you get anything.... here is what i got.... 2.23 Apps must follow the iOS Data Storage Guidelines or they will be rejected We found that your app does not follow the iOS Data Storage Guidelines, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. Specifically, your application is storing data in the incorrect location as specified in the iOS Data Storage Guidelines. just wondering if you got the same notice....

Just one of the many reasons I won't even bother doing anything for IOS. Android only for me....alot less headaches and such a small market share to develop for in my situation.

Hi Would it be possible to at first put prominence to the apps iOS content initally and user will find the great links for aggregated news as they fully utilize app. Mark

@ moapp: Do you have any more details about your app 'not storing data in the incorrect location'? I ask because I have no idea HOW an app could store data outside of it's own sandbox and don't understand this? Maybe you can lend some feedback so we can figure out what they mean and come up with a new approach. This one is super frustrating, data is saved in the only place they let us save it and it's rejected. Sigh... @ anthonyd: My opinion and mine alone. But, my opinion is based on seeing first hand the results of tens of thousands of submissions (literally).... I think Apple has started categorically rejecting some apps based on 'what they represent' and not 'what they do.' What I mean by this is...if the reviewer gets a sense that 'this app should not be a native app at all' they reject it, without ever even looking at it. Opinions like 'ah, just another bloggers app' and 'ok, a local restaurant finder thats already covered by google, why bother' and others. I of course think this is nuts but for sure it seems they are rejecting more and more apps these days. If they would just keep an open mind and try to see that just because they don't see the benefit of having an app like this on their phone doesn't necessarily mean an audience doesn't exist that will (like your customers, clients, congregation, etc). There's no telling what they will look for next, approve or disapprove next, or promote or degrade next. All you can do is try to keep moving forward while understanding that it's their little world that nobody except them can control and sometimes it sucks to get rejected. Downright hurtful sometimes to put that much effort into improving THEIR product to then be told 'you're not good enough for our elitist audience' Sucks. Android is only better in the fact that you can do just about anything you want. But, like we all know, this isn't necessarily better for the audience, just the developer sometimes. Who knows where this will all end up!

Update: I found some good info here: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=4C2C447152148DE3BF551DA about the iCloud data storage thing and how it relates to where the device is saving the data. It looks like they are NOT saving data to the 'wrong place' but could do it different so iCloud did not look to back them up. We'll get this changed as soon as we can and the update should fix the apple complaints.

If you did not enable the Advertisements, just try to enable in one or two screens. This might help. Also change the rounded buttons to square ones.
