Buzz App rejected!

My new app with IOS 5: We found the user interface of your app is not of sufficient quality to be appropriate for the App Store. Apps that provide a poor user experience are not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. Specifically, we noticed that your app does not take advantage of the iOS platform. It would be appropriate to add iOS specific UI and functionality rather than displaying just text and table views. Somme help? Thanks

Hi @guisante, Major bummer, but not all is lost! Different reviewers have different views on what makes a good app. Can you tell us a bit about what your app does? Would it be appropriate to add a quiz to your app? That has helped some people. Or, a map with GPS locations linked to driving directions? Let us know what's in the app, and we can probably suggest a way to help. Also...let us know the category it's going into. Mark

Though I am currently in the review process for my first app with Apple, I have also heard adding a picture upload can assist in getting approved. Whatever you do, be sure to download your latest config before uploading, so the reviewers will get to see the latest version and any changes you made.

That's a good idea, @Zackamo! Basically, and I think rightly so, Apple wants apps to somehow engage the user through features that are available via iOS, and not have apps that are essentially mobile versions of eb sites. The latter (mobile version of websites) can just as easily be done using a browser on a smartphone. But, add in something like GPS, or image upload, then you're getting some value add to the app. But, it also seems to be a matter of perspective to a particular reviewer, and whether they've had a bad day or not! Ola guisante I have a link with apple guidelines, it gives some guidance on screen appearance here. It may help to take one factor they recommend such as there guidance on tab bars and then with resubmission highlight how you have stuck with there guidelines eg I have adhered to your guideline on Don’t remove a tab when its function is unavailable The link for this is http://developer.apple.com/library/IOs/#documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/MobileHIG/UIElementGuidelines/UIElementGuidelines.html Hope that is of some help Mark
