I wanted to suggest the possibility of having on Buzztouch an app board with the BT user names and the logo/links to there apps. In the forums many BT users make great comments on features or ideas and it would be great to go to there respective apps and download them from the market places. Also I think it would inspire others to see the myriad of different apps that can be made from BT.

I was more thinking a tabed menu item next to the forum menu than an app as a way of advertising the talented skills of the BT users. @locolopez - Like the concept of an app though but feel it would be a very niche thing to go on the app store. apple have there app of the week so I think we should have Davids app of the week, and staff favorites etc.

I'd love to see this forum move to the next level with some sub forums and features like chat, etc.. This forum is nice but very basic. I've set-up and administered VBulletin, phpBB and Simple Machine forums for friends and clients. Just need a place to host it and you can use the freeware versions. Those platforms would let us easily create some sub forums such as 'iOS Help' 'Android Help' 'iOS Approved Apps' maybe a 'code help', etc.. lots of social features in there. not sure what platform this one is built on, it looks like Facebook integration and BT Proprietary code. but it uses php which makes me think the backend is SQLish and we could migrate the data most likely. and then the fun part of administering the masses begins :) but there's some great folks that would make more than adequete mods @ here. happy to donate some time back to BT to help. Fred speaks truth, but i'm not feeling right setting up something like that and drawing away BT traffic unless Dave and co tell us to go for it. They may already have plans to expand in motion.

and @LocoLopez please ship us Dwight Howard so we can send LeBron home early this summer!

New forum would be extremely helpful, and I think it has been discussed. I know many of the main developers are focusing on Buzztouch itself, and might need a web person on the team. I could see subforums for each version. (1.4, 1.5, 2.0). As well as general android and iphone development forums. Finally a subforum for app releases where people can make a forum post when the release an app with links and such. Biggest problems I have with current forum is that the search is very limited, and doesn't work well. I often just us google to search the forum. With limited search, and all posts in just one big forum, often times the same questions will be asked over and over again.

What if you just set up a page on the Wiki for apps? There is already a link to it on Buzztouch's site. It wouldn't work like a forum, but it could provide the info that Marko suggested at the start of the thread. Just a thought....

happy to help get this going and see this community grow. seems like some talented folks all over the world are here. one other aspect of a new forum that i didn't mention would be loading a plugin/support on it so it could be viewed with an app like tapatalk (or even better, a BT created app that reads forums) I def struggle trying to read this board on my iphone that way it is formatted. @LocoLopez they won't trade him until after the All Star weekend. he needs a change of scenery. If not us then LA so hes not in our conference anymore. anyone on our roster except DROSE (and maybe Taj, he's my buddy) somethign along the line

It is fantastic to see a small idea be expanded upon and refined. I can understand that BT have so much on developing the core that this is far from top of priority, I think what this thread shows is that the BT community can develop and support a way of evolving organically the forums and activities of the users. I think if BT feel what we have suggested is viable then once they put in some infrastructure the experience memebers (Gonorthwest, Fred, stefan, macapple etc) will guide the construction of the forum.
