API errors in Eclipse

I'm not sure what is going on. Everytime I try to run my app I get the following error: Unable to resolve target 'Google Inc.:Google APIs:4' The API by default in the new SDK is 15. I thought that more recent versions were backwards compatible so this shouldn't be an issue. The program was working the last time I tried to run it and I hadn't changed anything in the program. I'm definitely a beginner with all this and would appreciate nay help that can be given.

I am also a newbie so ... My thinking is that the sym is running as API 15, but the app does is not forward compatible to API 15, since the download is made for API 4. I have seen this and took care of it by adding compatibility to the app in eclise. (right click on workspace, then android tools, then add compatibility. Try it and the worst would be to make a new workspace again. Sorry, Fred can help you better.

Your solution is probably correct, I'm trying to understand what created the problem. Fred

I think it happened to me when I created a workplace, not thinking (or actually knowing at the time) about the API requirements. I created the workplace using API 15 and imported the source via filesystem, which is API 4 , so the workplace wanted newer API than the app had, so adding the compatibility, added the libraries in eclipse for the older API's. I can not say that is what happened here, but if my memory serves me correct (does not some times) that is how it happened for me.

So after trying to download the compatibility pack it shows this error: [2012-01-29 20:22:13 - Android Compatibility JAR not found:] It still shows the API error from above as well. Since I'm just using the basic Buzz Touch App, is there a way of changing the API to a newer one in the App Console? It seems like the default is for API 4. Thanks in advance.

How did you create the project? Please given step by step. You don't need to worry about app console. Fred

It has been entirely created using the BuzzTouch website. It is just a series of menus leading eventually to text (pretty simple). I downloaded the source code to my computer as a .zip file. It was unzipped to the desktop. I then opened the Android SDK manager and Eclipse software. I followed the text file in the .zip file and performed these steps: File->new->project-Android project Create project from existing source Selected the appropriate location using the browse function and gave a project name Clicked next and chose an Android 4.0.3, Android Open Source Project, Paltform 4.0.3 API 15 virtual device that I had previously created using the Android SDK Manager. Clicked next and the minimum SDK is automatically set at 15 Clicked finish. I think these are all of the steps I did. If something seems like it is missing, let me know and I can tell you what I did. I really appreciate your help.
