BT_Images vs URL Call (background images)

Curious.. I would like to switch some of my images for menu backgrounds from being URL called and store them in the BT_Images instead. Obviously I will need to upload new binaries but my question is.. If I add the image names, and the images aren't present in app, does it then go to the URL and try to call that? It says specifically to do one or the other but I don't want to break what might already be out there by using both options (since it says not to do that). The only reason I am worried is the lag time for Apple to approve updates, with android I could get a new apk in instantly. This is on 1.5 Thanks for any help

I am a newbie here, so ... Just thinking, The calls that are being made to that URL image, are being resolved correctly now. The images will still be located there (via the URL) after the change to a local image is made in the app itself. So. The old apps will still load it via URL, until they update to the new app. Then it would pull it from the local file. How long it would take for all your users to update to the newest, would be the time needed before they could be removed from the URL image location on buzztouch. Now I could be wrong, but I would think that would be the way it would work. My thinking on this is that the URL will still work, by calling an image that is still located there.

Problem is partially that this is an online app, so the app will always check for updates to that screen when loaded. I guess if I submit a new version to apple with just the images in the folder but not yet present on the admin side of things, once I get accepted I could change from URL to Image in the config for those screens. Curious though if something bad does happen if both of those fields are filled, as I could continue to leave them filled knowing that some may never update.

You're correct, submit new ipa with current url, after approval then change url to image name. One or the other but not both, BT will not allow both. Read online offline discussion to determine best method. Fred

Decided to go digging through the BT_activity_base file. It appears that it will first check to see if the file exists in the BT_Images folder. If it does not, then it will try cache, and then it will download from URL. Here is a link of the code I am referring too. http://pastebin.com/Rc1KCchC Wouldn't mind if someone could confirm my logic is correct.
