I canot find the archive app in Xcode?

I'm trying to build an app to upload to iTunes. I have an Apple Developer account. I created a developer certification and everything installed. I went to iTunes Connect and started the process. My app is Waiting for Upload. I switched from release to distribution in Skip Install in the Build setting. When I archive the app, everything appears to work properly. When I go to the organizer I can't locate the archived file to validate it. I checked the path and I can see the archived app on my hard drive, Xcode can't see the archived app. I looked at several examples and videos on YouTube and I followed them, but Xcode isn't seeing the archives. Anyone has any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong, I would welcome any help. Thanks

Hi @FirstRun, @aussiedra is right...you need to first Build for Archive, then do a Product...Archive to actually send it to Organizer. Here's a doc I wrote up with all the steps : http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Submitting_Your_App_To_iTunes_Connect_v1.0.pdf Let us know if you still have problems! Mark

Hello Aussiedra and Mark, I set Xcode to iOS device and I followed Mark's doc step by step. The app is being compiles and archived. It is still not showing up in organizer. Either I am still doing something wrong (most likely) or my install of Xcode has a glitch. Tony

Thanks everyone for all of your help. I finally got it to work. Oddly enough when I changed Skip Install to No my archive app showed up in the organizer. I was able to validate it and submit it to Apple. Now the test is to see if Apple accepts it. Tony

This is the link I found where others were having the same problem. http://www.dzhang.com/blog/2011/03/11/xcode-4-succeeded-archiving-app-but-nothing-appears-in-organizer Not sure why it worked, I'm just glad it did. :)
