How do I reference a local html file as a custom URL for iOS?

Hi, For android I use file:///mydirectory/myfile.html to pull a local file using the Custom URL screen...but this does not work in XCode. How do I reference a local file in XCode?

Hi @creedifee, All local files need to go into BT_Docs, and all local images into BT_Images. Then, in your HTML, you just reference the base file name, like coolimage.png or readthis.pdf or something...no need to mention the folders they are located in. In fact...you can create folders within the base folders, and still not have to reference those...Xcode and buzztouch will figure it all out! The only caveat is that there not be any spaces or special characters in the file names. And here's a doc that shows you how to add files to Xcode: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Adding_Files_To_A_Project_v1.0.pdf Let us know if you have any other questions! Mark

Looking more at your question, I don't think I fully answered it. If you have a local file that you want to add to your project, you need to just specify the file name in your buzztouch Control Panel, and then add that file to your Xcode project. You can't use a URL to reference a local file. Mark

Thanks so much Mark! My only problem is that this app is 1.4... anything different here? I tried referencing the base file name but no success yet. Thanks again for any other insight.

So, you've stumbled on a limitation of v1.4...everything has to be online. So, there is no way to reference a local file...it all has to be located at a URL on the Internet. My advice would be to stop your v1.4 work, and move to v1.5. You can do what you're looking to do with that version, and so, so much more. Android is a bit limited in v1.5, but iOS is fully functional. It'll be worth whatever work you have to put into moving it! Mark

I really like using DropBox. If you put your files in the public folder, you can grab a link from it that can be accessed over the internet.
