A little astronomy on the app store

Hi folks, I just wanted to share my app with you (astronomy related news - created with buzztouch of course, and it's free): http://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/atra-materia-mobile/id495471019?mt=8 Although the app is in French , I thought some of you might be curious and want to take a look. Quite often, people are asking what you can do with buzztouch, and I'd say you can do anything! I modified the code a bit (and added a lot!), to add some functionalities or make the design a bit different, so I guess it can give an idea of what's possible to do. Anyway, if some of you speak French and like astronomy, I hope you'll enjoy the app as much as I enjoyed creating it :)

Nice one, looks slick. As soon as I find my iPhone i'll grab it. My cat likes to steal it during the night to play Angry Birds. Screenshots and what not look very cool, can't wait to fire it up.

Thank you both very much! :) Paddy, in-app purchases are pretty simple to implement, however it is quite a long process. Take a look at this excellent tutorial, it should get you started in no time: http://www.raywenderlich.com/2797/introduction-to-in-app-purchases If you have any problems or questions with the tutorial, I'll be glad to help.

@Aescleah, very cool app! are you good at programming? I love the way you have the small plus sign at the bottom of the page that opens up to let you share the article. How did you do that? Is it a lot of heavy coding? I would love to know the resources you used to do that!

Well done looks a great app but embarrasses me on my linguistic ability for schoolboy french. If only my french teacher looked more like Angelina Jolie than the woman from that film goonies Bravo pour votre application mobile une excellente

It's worth it just for the photos. English content is here : http://atramateria.com/ Made me think if google translate would work for a RSS feed, maybe with Yahoo pipes.

Thank you so much everyone! Dkeller, the + menu required quite a lot of coding indeed (it was inspired by the Path application): designig all the images, coding the animations, and then the actions for each buttons!.. Inmplementing Facebook wasn't that esay for example, their documentation isn't really helpful, and I didn't follow it too much in the end, as I didn't really like the way things were working. Also, I had to make radical choices: as you may have noticed, iOS 5.0 at least is required, because of some frameworks. I could probably get everything to work with iOS 4 too, but that would require a lot of additional work. If a lot of people ask for it, then I might consider taking a look at it. Paddy, I'm also the one writing the articles on the English blog. I chose to develop the app in French as there is almost nothing available on the French app store regarding astronomy, unlike on the american one. Anyway, I think I'll add an option to the app that will allow people to read whether the news in french or in english. Once again, thank you all for your kind compliments!

Now that I have more time, I'll try to help when I can :) Otherwise, you guys convinced me, so the English version of the app with the news in English will be available with the next upadte of the app! Everything's working already, I just have a few more translations to add. And for the ones willing to practice French ^^, you'll be able to select the language in which you want the news within the app.
