Creating Interactive Forms

Hi All! Does anyone out there have any experience with creating user interactive forms for apps? i.e. the form will have several categories with fields that are either free-form fill in or drop down choices. Any tips, suggestions, direction towards tutorials would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! GB

Hi, If coding is not your thing you can try http://www.jotform.com This is what I used until now and it served me very well. You create the form on their site and from there you can grab the code to embed in a custom HTML page. Good luck, Vali

I looked up jotform yesterday, looks very promising. Do you have some sample code you could share? Plus any tips.

definitely an awesome site! I was able to create the exact form I wanted very fast...thank you! So here's my next question: Is it possible for me to use the form in an app without it having the user needing internet connectivity?

I had a similar question in regards to combining a form like this and a GameCenter Quizz. We were hoping to have a competition with our quiz to win something- so we need to be able to collect email addresses. Does anyone have any ideas on how we could integrate a form with the quiz? I'm aware of the rules that Apple impose on having competitions in apps, and we can write up some rules to comply with them. Thanks.

One issue I have been having with jotForm though is that despite changing the form width, the form still appears tiny when you first open the page in the app. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the issue might be?

Jack, does it open at the right size when you embed it onto an HTML page?

@javooooo, you need to implement it in the custom HTML page between the <body> </body> tags. Do not change the default code from BT as it is formatted just the way you need it. See here my code from a live app: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC -//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd> <html xmlns=http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml> <head> <meta charset=UTF-8 content=text/html; http-equiv=Content-Type /> <meta content=width=320,user-scalable=false name=viewport /> <title></title> <style type=text/css> p.sansserif{font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; color:#000000;} h1{font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; color:#000000;text-align: center; font-size:20px;} } </style> </head> <body> <div style=margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; height: 480px; width: 320px; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 9px; color: rgb(83, 83, 83); background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px solid rgb(42, 136, 172); font-style: normal; text-align: right; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-bottom: 3px ! important;> <iframe allowtransparency=true frameborder=0 scrolling=no src=http://form.jotform.com/form/INSERT FORM ID HERE style=width:320; height:540px; border:none;></iframe></div> </body> </html> Note that the forum takes out the quotes from the code

Google Documents is free and provides the ability to create forms that you can embed using custom html or custom url
