Needs to be a Linux box (LAMP Stack). I've never seen a linux box install show an error for this line. This line is not uber-important anyway so you could just add the @ before the method call to ignore the error, like @date_default_timezone_set() Comments Could it be that you are installing this on a Windows machine?
