v1.5 Android map tiles and marker show, but no map

I added a location map to my menu. When I select it, the screen loads. I see the Google logo in the bottom left corner and a marker in the center of the screen, but there isn't a map. I've installed the Google Map Keys, both debug and release. The map tiles zoom and scroll but no map. The LogCat shows the following: 01-13 01:08:50.276: W/ZZ(626): BT_screen_map:onCreate 01-13 01:08:50.297: W/ZZ(626): BT_viewUtilities:updateBackgroundColorsForScreen with nickname: Our Location 01-13 01:08:50.297: W/ZZ(626): BT_viewUtilities:updateBackgroundColorsForScreen: setting background color to: #FFFFFF 01-13 01:08:50.297: W/ZZ(626): BT_viewUtilities:getNavBarForScreen building nav. bar for screen with nickname: Our Location 01-13 01:08:50.356: W/ZZ(626): BT_screen_map:onStart using cached screen data 01-13 01:08:50.356: W/ZZ(626): BT_fileManager: readTextFileFromCache: 26E5BE7DB8717218BB39327_screenData.txt 01-13 01:08:50.366: I/global(626): Default buffer size used in BufferedReader constructor. My screen_map.xml has the following entry: android:apiKey=@string/googleMapsAPIKeyDebug It pulls the variable from strings.xml, where both my release key and debug key are stored. Is there somewhere else in screen_map.xml where I'm supposed to place the API key? Are you saying I should hard wire the API key in place of the @string/ command? My AndroidManifest.xml has the following code at the end of the file: <!-- reqiured libraries for maps --> <uses-library android:name=com.google.android.maps/> Version 1.4 had a second line at that point that began <activity android:names=.Screen_LocationMap etc. Was this line left out of v.1.5 intentionally or is it supposed to be there too? And can anyone help explain why the LogCat file shows an error line that says 01-13 01:35:53.097: E/MapActivity(1096): Couldn't get connection factory client?

My maps displayed in the emulator and on my smart phone after I added this line to the AndroidManifest.xml file: <uses-permission android:name=android.permission.INTERNET />
