New guy starting and seeking advice

Hello all - yup I am the new guy. :) I did use the search option and did try checking out a bit around the forum and net but didnt get my question answered so here I post. Sorry if I missed it and am asking a popular question. I am interested in making apps for iPhone and did see the basic steps to do it. However I am totaly new to this. I did some light programing in C++ but what I am wondering is what programing skills will I need to make small games for iPhone (think - Angry Birds or Plant vs Zombies level). I know that I will need to learn Objective-C the equalent to C++ but what about stuff like Win32 programing or DirectX (I know neither is used on macs but dont know if they have equivalents I need to learn)? Guess I am wondering on what skillsets I need to work. Thanks in advance and sorry for the bother.

I wouldn't say that Angry Birds is a 'small game'! Very complex. You need a game engine/creator software, plenty can be found with a Google search, some costing thousands, some open source and free. One of the better free ones I've found is http://game-editor.com. Graphical drag and drop, pre-built commands, Use C++ to extend the pre-built commands and deploy to multiple platforms. Also, a very active forum and tons of tutorials, video walkthroughs, example code, whole project source code and plenty of help. Just to qualify - it's free if you produce free games (ad supported) but $99 if you intend to sell games.
