Mysterious underscore

Below is a snippet of html code that should print out JUNE 5-6 (as a hyperlink) and then a few lines down, the word TRANSIT. When I look at it in Dreamweaver, that's all I see. But in the iphone simulator, a mysterious underscore (or hyphen, I can't tell) appears above the word TRANSIT. These mysterious marks appear often in my app in the htm pages, though not everywhere. I can't see from the code what the problem is. Can anyone? If you need more of the code, please let me know.
JUNE 5-6

TRANSIT

Sorry I cannot :( I can only go on via speculation, but perhaps your hyper link has empty space in between, and thus the line that you see is actually part of that hyperlink lingering off its course thanks to the ending tag misplacement? for example, that space could be found here: (note the space in-between the spans) No way to know, but I bet you 20 bucks with a little editing in your code and experimenting with the hyperlink and spaces there, you can get rid of it. If you can't figure it out after this, more code will be needed so I can see better (feel free to ask for email and email it, as to not make it public if you are worried). Take care, David. buzztouchmods.com

David, I don't know very much about htlm code so if you give me your e-mail I can email you the screen shot and it will be much bigger. Don't know why it's so small on imageshack since it's huge in photoshop at actual pixel size. Steve

Finally figured it out. I created these htm files from word and at times when I would underline a group of words, the mouse selection would go over until the next line which is a carriage return. In word, carriage returns don't show the underlining so I didn't see it. Realized this when I saw that always these mysterious markings would show up after an underlined text! DOH!
