And if you don't read the article (which you should), at least check out the new Android Design Guide from Google, that's mentioned in the article : http://developer.android.com/design/get-started/creative-vision.html Mark

It's all very well Google telling developers to build better app, but until they prevent providers hacking the os, some people on some devices will always get a bad experience. Even incredibly successful, engaging, aesthetically pleasing, professionally built apps like angry birds aren't 100% device compatible and that's not the fault of the developers, but it still leads to negative feedback, complaints and un-installs. On a side issue, and who knows what the ramifications are for us in the future, some of the worst looking spam apps I've found have been built with BT - One screen webviews with Dating Site sign up pages. Ugghh.

^^ lol i've been calling them SPAP's - spam applications. and i totally agree with you. how can you tell they are done with BT - do you just recognize the layouts or is there somethign you see on the device/app that says BT? great article too. thanks for posting it. i also find it funny when articles reference Android Apps and always say 'and we know Android users never pay for apps....' part of me thinks that's why android is gong to take over. people love FREE. they don't care how crappy the app is. if it's free they will try it and then just delete it. (hello malware)

SPAPS! Love it. Expect to see that in the Urban Dictionary soon! They look to me like 'out of the box' v1.4 apps with no effort gone into making them look any different to the basic template. I've read that Google take quick action on Malware apps, but only retroactively, like when they're reported by users.
