Hi from Houston

I just wanted to introduce myself to the community. I found Buzztouch a short while ago tonight and after browsing around a bit I decided to join in. I don't think I have ever seen a better job of support being offered than I'm seeing by the Buzztouch team. Great job. I look forward to participating in the forum and possibly even trying my hand at a few apps (Android). I'll be lurking here for a while until I've had a good look around and am able to familiarize myself with the mechanics and the dynamics of how things work, but I am looking forward to being able to contribute something useful to the community. Larry

Welcome aboard Larry! Have a glance through the Videos and User Submitted Guides in the Help section of this website. Also after you download your source code be sure to view any 'readme' or 'instructions' documents that come included with your project. Between all of that you should be able to find the information you need to get going. If not, then by all means use this forum. Tons of old threads to look through and usually a fairly quick answer if you can't successfully find your answer with using the search bar. Have fun!

Parker, Thanks. I have been using Google's App Inventor until recently when the whole project got moved to MIT's servers. It will take them awhile yet to get up and running again to a point where anyone can use it, but the whole concept of writing apps for the average person is awesome. I'm on my cell phone right now, but will be downloading Eclipse later tonight after work. Thanks again. Larry

Larry, how did you get on with app inventor? I found it to be so confusing and ridiculously hard just to get a signed apk to the market. When I first found it I thought, considering it was google's pet project, that it would have everything, but it actually had very little - hence my being here now!

Raveyd, I actually got into the whole thing of building apps kinda late. The decision to switch the project to MIT's servers had already been made when I first found out that it was possible to create apps without extensive training. I haven't had a chance to look at Buzztouch and what it has to offer, but I will soon. If it's really that much easier to use than App Inventor then there's no need for me to bother with App Inventor. I did like the whole concept of writing apps by clicking puzzle pieces together. We'll see how things work out. Thanks. Larry

@Larry - Personally, I haven't visited app inventor in around 8 months - pretty much the day before I discovered Buzztouch! There are some tough-ish concepts to get your head around for sure, but the help and support is amazing, probably the best I've ever experienced for anything.

@Raveyd: + 1 regarding the support I've seen here. I am on several different forums and have never seen the kind of support I see here. Larry

Hi Larry, Welcome to Buzztouch! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions, no matter how dumb you think they are! And check out this doc to make sure you have everything in place: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Things_You_Need_Before_You_Start_Developing_Apps_v1.0.pdf Mark
