Hi @gbakakos, Have you specified Google API 2.2/8 in preferences for your project? Are these Errors or Warnings? David from BT had a post earlier explaining the R thing, so you really should just be seeing Warnings that you can safely ignore (assuming you have the correct API installed and configured). Thanks! Mark

Mark thanks for responding. I do have 2.2/8 As a preference. 495 errors not warnings. I will try to locate the post you mentioned that david wrote. Thank you

This is what he said : Image names in Eclipse suck! This limitation is not actually related to Eclipse but instead related to how Android parses, tracks, and maintains 'resource information.' Tiny nugget: In case you've been wondering about the the crazy and super mysterious R.java file in your project, this is automagically created by the Android SDK. This file is a subfolder named gen/package name/ The idea is that Android creates a symbol for every single project resource (this is why it's called R.java) and this symbol represents a 'pointer' to the resource. All I can figure is that the Android team must have placed some generic file-naming restrictions on each resource to make it easier to parse all the files when automatically creating this resource list. It doesn't take long to do the parsing but you can notice a few things that Eclipse + Android does during this parsing. Example: Open up any layout.xml file and try to enter an image src in an ImageView (assuming the layout.xml file has an image view) and use a file name for an image that does not exist in your project. It won't take long for Eclipse to show the little red x next to the item in the editor. This is it's way to say 'hey, this resource does not exist.' It's not actually looking at the /resources directory when it does this, it's looking at the R.java file. The R.java file seems to be auto refreshed every now and then to help the code-hints and other fancy stuff in the editor. I do not like this behavior but do understand where it has some merit. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=40DE4A1255BC5AD72943D0C&status=&searchInput=search...&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=1&doViews=1 Mark

@gbakakos: This is the same issue that I have whenever I load a BT server project into my macbook pro running a properly configured (fingerscrossed) install of eclipse using all correct settings... I wish that I had a solution for you... following up with any breakthroughs would be much appreciated... Thanks GM

Is it possible that the problem is with the version of Java that installed? I know that Java is automatically installed on Mac, and gets automatically updated, but perhaps this is somehow linked? There are some instructions on the Android web site for linking the Java stuff to Eclipse...I'll see if I can find them. Eclipse and Android SDK require JDK, not JRE that most systems seem to have. @gbakakos: I read in the other thread that you don't have this issue with the same files on your windows laptop...Interesting... Does seem to add credence to Marks theory above... GM

Have you guys done this? Look in your home directory for .bash_profile file. Look for a line that sets the PATH environment variable and add the full path to the tools/ directory to it. If you don’t see a line setting the path, you can add one: export PATH=${PATH}:/tools You can create the .bash_profile if you haven’t already set one up on your machine. Got this from http://www.freshblocks.com/tutorials/getting-set-up-for-android-development-on-a-mac/ Mark

This is old, but also might help. A JDK version of Eclipse? http://www.infinitezest.com/articles/getting-started-with-android-on-a-mac.aspx

As it turns out I do have the issue on the Windows Eclipse side. What the heck is going on with the Android stuff. Nothing is working on BT2.0 if this problem pops up.

I now have this happening on my Windows Eclipse projects also. What the hell is going on. Why would this crop up all of a sudden. I just created a bare bones app simple menu 3 list items on the menu (word, PDF, PPT) Used a URL as the source document from my drop box. No special characters in the file names. I just dont understand what has or could have changed from a few weeks ago. I have been spending more time on the IOS side on my BT2.0 server and jumped back to windows to see what it might look like ther and BAM BAM all hell broke loose... The Android side is so far behind the IOS side in both BT stuff and IOS vs Eclipse. So what the heck is this issue. Davids explanation did not register with me. (mostly because I'm frustrated with the Android stuff...)

I think its break time for a few days. The Android development platform just plain sucks...... Not BT but Android.... I just don't understand why all of a sudden this would pop up. I have created a dozen apps that have images and documents out the butt.... Never had a problem
