can you run xcode on a machine with OSX Tiger?

I found a great deal on a Mac laptop that meets all the specs I can find for xcode 4. It's a macbook, Intel core 2 duo, 2ghz, 2gb ram, which all are ok. What I don't know about is that it has Mac OSX 10.4 Tiger rather than snow leopard or lion. Will this MacBook be able to run xcode 4?

Hi Daniel, The latest version of xcode only works on Lion. So if you can find an older version for Tiger you can run it but the latest version of xcode is much better and has a lot of bug-fixes. It's always best to work with latest version of software. Best Regards, Danny

Nope, it won't work unfortunately : To install Xcode 4, you must have an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard http://developer.apple.com/xcode/ But, Snow Leopard is only like $30, so it's worth upgrading. Also doesn't appear that Xocde 3.x will work with Tiger either. Mark
