Button transparency still not working.

I have been using this guide to make my menu buttons transparent http://myskylla.wordpress.com/2011/12/02/buttons-yes-we-got-buttons/ I have followed the guide to the letter. Not once but 3 times in case i made a mistake. Still cant get it to work. When i open up my app in the emulator it will not even open up in the home screen and instead opens up in a button. I cant go back to the home screen from the button screen as there is no back button at the top. I have tried emptying the cache in the emulator, uninstalling and reinstalling the app in the emulator, but still the problem persists.

The home screen is controlled in the layout settings. What are your settings in the layout. Also, Try closing and restarting Eclipse.

Thanks Fred. The home screen is displayed now. Still no luck formatting the buttons. Do i need to format the button layout in both my 'generic themes' and also in my 'advanced menu properties'? Im going to give it ago and see what happens.
