getting info from user via form with needing to go to website

I would love to have some form system in app so that user could put key info in and a pdf/doc file is generated by app giving them correctly laid out CV. Could this be done within app or would it have to be linked to a website form. Could it be internal custom html sheets that yield a range of data via user input to then be merged into a pdf or word doc - all done native.

Hi Marco, Can't do it native without writing your own code (xcode or android). Only way to accomplish this is to use custom html or custom Url pointing to html or (more reasonable) php-script. The script would handle all the requests and generate you desired pdf. Best Regards, Danny

Thanks Danny, that helps I have set myself the task of learning the code so it can be done native, until then I will do a non native html site. I will post the code if I crack it via objective C. I have a dream that I fall asleep and David with matchsticks in his eyes codes a new option on the BT menu. I had a similar dream of Angelina Jolie calling me - I have never awoken to the phone ringing.

Yep, the was the solution I was going to recommend as well...take form output, send to PHP, and have it return a PDF file. That'll take some scripting as well, but here are some decent skeleton scripts for that if you Google it. I'm thinking it would be a huge coding task to write it into the app itself. Mark

We love hearing that sort of stuff, Marko! Be sure to check out: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#referencelibrary/GettingStarted/Learning_Objective-C_A_Primer/_index.html Should get you off in the right direction.

Thanks Mark maybe having this as my first lesson in objective C might be a little ambitious. The link is a great help Parker my son saw you on an earlier posting and said you looked like the man in a kids film called 'tooth fairy' I thinks he is a WWF wrestler. So if David unlocks the server room door there is a second carer as movie/wwf star.

Haha! That's hilarious but unfortunately I've seen myself shirtless and I look nothing like The Rock. That dude is huge!
