Hi Serge, If you change the icon you have to generate/re-download a new zipfile (in the backend) and open that file in XCode. Best Regards, Danny

I'm Android not iOS, so I'm only asking. In Android, the re-download of the Source Code is not necessary. Only need to recompile to change the name. So my question, is the re-download necessary?

Hi guys, If you change the icon for your app, a recompile will be necessary. You don't necessarily have to re-upload a new icon to the buzztouch control panel and then download your project, but it can save you the time of re-adding the image every time you wish to recompile. It is fine to just change the image in xcode or eclipse and then recompile and then re-upload/reinstall. I believe the same is basically true for your app name as well, although you may need to change the name in a few places. If that's the case, re-downloading the project would be easiest.

The reason I ask the question, is because re-downloading the source code can cause problems, expecially if you're unfamiliar howhte source code files work. Will you need to re-add image files to the new source code? re-Modify the Manifest? Seems like re-downloading source code is a step that should be taken with caution. If you search the Forum, you'll find various person that had problems after they re-downloaded the Source Code just for good measure.

The whole compiling process can be a bit tricky to understand at first but re-downloading your source code and recompiling shouldn't present you with any problems. Any file that you wish to be embedded within your app must be loaded into xcode or eclipse before you compile your app. Changes to the manifest will be made depending on if you are compiling for debug or release or if you are creating a new version of an older app. There are guides in the Help section of this website that should help you through this process. http://www.buzztouch.com/help/ Be sure to check out the User Submitted Guides, Videos, and Android Resources sections.

I had to change the name and icon of my app due to a rejection from apple in the submission process. I'm now facing the same issue of having to re-download source code and compile again in Xcode in order to get my new app icon to show up. I had everything configured for distribution previously as my app was submitted to apple successfully through the uploader. Question: Will I have to re configure everything again for distribution as before or will the settings stay in place once I re-download the source code? Thanks, Robert

You can change the name & icon in Android without downloading the source code, thereby saving all your changes. Same is true for iOS, but I cannot tell you how in iOS. But what I can tell you is don't re-download the source code. Fred
