getting nowhere fast cant compile my android app in eclipse keeps telling me I have errors to fix

Hi as a newbie I am struggling to get my app compiled and hopefully launched. I cant get past the 'your project has errors, please fix them' message. Any advice welcome. I would be happy to send the source code to anyone if they want to see what is wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve, Have you checked out this document yet? http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Compiling_Your_Android_Application_v1.0.pdf Lots of issues with Eclipse have to do with not specifying the correct Google APIs. The doc should help you with that. Thanks! Mark

Hi Steve, Not that i can help you; but I've got exactly the same problem. I saw on another topic that someone could avoid it by redownloading the project, but that doesn't help with mine (I tried it seven times; booted cpu again, etc.) I'm getting errors in the src folder. To be exact in BT_item.java and BT_screen_map.java If I look in the 'problems' area of eclipse I see a lot of things 'cannot be resolved to a type'. Here is the list: Geopoint, Mapactivity, Itemizedoverlay, Mapview, Overlay, Overlayitem And there are some more 'problems'. Well I havn't got a clue (sorry). Can anyone help? Cheers and make 2012 a very (h)app(y) year!

Hi Steve, I didn't see your response. I'll check the document. If that doesn't help, I'll be back :-) Thanks!

You'll find with Eclipse projects that there are lots of warnings, but that none of those prevent the app from compiling or running correctly. It's the errors that will prevent it from actually compiling. Mark

Mark many thanks that got the app compiled. I now need to revisit the design and get the font sizes sorted. Steve
