Done it many times myself! You can even had one of the screen be a button menu. Doesn't matter! Click that, and it brings you to a page where you have to decide between a Home Screen (non-tabbed layout), and a tabbed layout. Click on Tabbed Layout, and fill in the blanks. You need to have the screens behind the layout already created so you can reference them here. You could, for example, create a screen called Menu, which would be a Menu List screen. Then you would associate that with, for example, Tab 1. Then, when people click on Tab 1 (the left most tab), they will be presented with a Menu List screen. Is this what you are intending?
