If this was possible, updating plugins would be easier to know when they are out of date and updating them would be easier. The auto-update is kinda a no brainer (for plugins and for the control panel package itself) as far as functionality goes. But, it's a difficult engineering task with so many different types of servers and backends running the control panel. We agree that a newer, better, more efficient way of plugin discovery is needed and it's for sure near the top of our lists. We think alike ;-) Comments For sure this makes sense.
