Where to start with my iphone App idea

I have no coding experience at all. I have registered, on this site, my app name and uploaded a logo for it. I need to know where to start with describing the idea of the app, what it does, what features it offers and other information. How do I get started with all of this, as I do not want someone stealing my idea for this app. Thanks in advance.

Watch the videos. They explain a lot. There's no need to share your app idea or features. You build the app yourself. It's fairly easy. You should sketch out an outline of what screens you want and the content you'll include. Then build away. Follow the BT menus to add screens. Then download your app and run it in xcode so you can see how it looks and works in the simulator. Not too complicated to manage.

Don't worry about someone stealing your idea, if it's good someone will. If you don't share the idea with others (don't have to share with the whole world) you'll be developing in a very small bubble. Just create a better app, have more effective marketing and customer service. Besides half a dozen people probably already thought of your app, they just don't know how to create one, or are busy doing something else. Bill Gates stole from IBM, Jobs stole from everyone, well you get the picture.

Fred - Agree with your post about App ideas although the latter part of your post made me chuckle, cheers. Reading Jobs biography right now. To say he stole from everyone isn't really accurate. Doubt we'll see another like him, to define him as a thief is a little off the mark. As for Gates, he didn't steal from IBM, he cleverly licensed DOS to them. It's said he was a little bit sneaky when he bought DOS and that he swiped much of the GUI and Windows ideas from Apple.

Try building a basic app first. Lots of good help around here. Once you learn to crawl, then you can start walking tword that goal you have. paper sketching is an excellent idea as well Essential http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Things_You_Need_Before_You_Start_Developing_Apps_v1.0.pdf welcome to the madness

Just a word about the videos. Some is outdated (actually very little is outdated) But watching is still very helpful. But use the google api 2.2 Level 8 as referenced in the pdf (it's more current) and get Java 7 ( not sure which Jave is referred to in the video) Fred

I have looked at two of the videos and have started my app. I do think before I go any further, I need to draw it out on paper, for a road-map. I spoke to a kid yesterday (22 years old, sorry I'm old !! ) and he said it takes about $10,000 to make an app. Does that seem right? If so, I do not have that kind of $$$$.

Nonsense. Kids eh? It'll be free for you on here, an investment in time with some learning thrown in. People do and will continue to charge that kind of money, not uncommon. Your only outlay will be registering for dev accounts at Apple and Google. Oh yeah, lots of coffee as well!

Yup. I bought a mac (500 yoyos) and paid apple 99$ and that was it, other than a fair few hours getting it all to work. I like the sound of trying to sell an app for $10,000 lol. MacApple, yes all set! Got a few good reviews on IGN for other non-app games recently, helping out a friend with a few video based buzztouch apps & dreaming up new ideas for apps in 2012. Happy new year! Weather wet in Ireland, but at least its not snowing :D

MacApple, I don't drink coffee so I'll save $$$$ on that, too. I'll continue to work on my app here on this site, since it is free, and then I'll have to pay the $99 and watch the money come rolling in. One can wish, can't he?
