(Black Emulator Issue) Android Development Environment & Compiling In Eclipse On WindowsXP

I've been at this all day and have combed the forum.... GoNorthwest posts> Have been a huge help! After downloading the android code and importing into eclipse with zero errors the emulator runs with the android_ flashing then goes completely black. I just want to see this test app! Would it be better to use my own Android Bionic to act as an emulator? Since things tend to go a little slow on my old windows pc as it is. Thanks

Hi @jaymobi, In my experience, it's always better to test on an actual device instead of a simulator. The simulator only really provides the most basic framework in which to run your app. Much better idea to use a real device. All you need to do is compile your app with debuggable=true, generate the .apk file, and either email it to your device or post it on the web somewhere where you can surf to it. When you click on the apk file, it'll install it for you. Answer Yes to the changes it asks to make. Hope that helps! Mark
