Android 1.5 - No work in 2 months?

Hi All, Does anyone know when Android 1.5 will be finished? It looks like no work has been done in 2 months.

I guess a little patience goes a long way. We are all eager to receive the final product, but until then, have in mind all the great stuff we have right now. I know BT team is working hard on delivering a great service. Just have some faith. Cheers!

Lots of work has been done in two months. You may have missed some conversations or some ideas but think of it this way: All the plugins you see in the list of the bt-server solution are THE SAME WORK for v1.5 screens. Thy will work right now in a v1.5 Android app if you wanted to include them in a project and explore the source-code. We realize that this is not ideal but there is zero incentive for us to program for both packages. Zero. It's hard enough to do this at all, let alone for lots of different versions, which is why we've gone the plugin route for nearly two months. Our future is not v1.4 or v1.5 or v1.xxx, our future is plugins. If we took the time to include the already developed plugins in v1.5 Android we would be wasting time and money. It's far more complicated than most folks realize in tying the plugins to an older control panel. v1.5 is an OLD control panel (when considering how it works vs the bt-server solution). If you want to continue working with Android v1.5 you're welcome too. But, as has always been the case, you'll need to take responsibility for your app and your source code and your project. This means if you want to add a screen that isn't magically available or useful using the control panel you'll need to create your own class file then gain an understanding of how to load that class on a menu tap or button tap within your app. Hope this helps clarify where we stand. Oh, lastly, we do intend on assembling the plugins in a pre-packaged v1.5 Android solution. But, like stated earlier, this will be going away. When v1.4 and 1.5 goes away, existing apps and their control panels will still work but new apps will not be based on v1.4 / v1.5, they will be based on the plugin architecture.

Thanks for the clarification. Will we still be able to edit our 1.5 apps / upgrade them to the plugins?

@jake, you wont have to upgrade your app to receive or use the plug in. plugins are installed via the control panel, just like in bt server 2.0. if you have access to your own web hosting account you can install bt server and start using plugins.

No, you have to create the app with 2.0.

But what is the difference - 1.5 vs. 2.0?

what server you app updates from! On bt server 2.0, your apps update from your server and your control panael is on your server. 2.0 already has 20 plug ins also. So as soon as a plug in is created, 2.0 can install it. No way to istall plugins yet on your regular bt control panel! Goto your account and read about server 2.0. On the home screen

Remember plugins are the focus, so bt 1.5 will probably stay at its current state for,a while! Server 2.0 already has more advantages, and already has the features of 1.5 projects.
