saving HTML text field on device (without PHP)

I set up an HTML page on one of my apps that has a calulator and a notes field. When the user leaves the page and comes back, the page reloads and of course the notes field is blank again. Is there a way to have this field automaticly save and set up a button to clear? I would like to be able to do this without a PHP setup. Want to be able to do it without internet access.
