setting up eclips and adk and everything on Win 7

I have spent over 2 weeks several hours every day trying to get this to work. I have installed, uninstalled, re-installed, download app, and the eclipse does not work. Nothing works. I've even deleted antivirus software because it was preventing me from upgrading one of the sdk pkgs. I am wondering...How does buztouch really work. Im totally baffled at the process and have read several things with instructions for installing eclipse, sdk, adk and java jdk...there are levels of information and most of the things ive read pertaining to the how to set up are incorrect...and so I am reaching out before I give up on buzztouch. Does anybody know how to set up the software needed to create/compile/and test a new android app on a win 7 computer? I need help with this! Thanks!!! Patti [email protected]

Here's my take, methods mentioned above are good, just think you might be helped by this blog post. https://myskylla.wordpress.com/2011/11/17/buzztouch-for-beginners/

thank you everybody for your comments. it is not working . it seems like i get most of it done but the tutorials are for the mac and i have a pc. sigh. all of the tutorials differ. why? maybe some logic behind the process would help instead of following tutorials that get to a point where i have to stop because my screen differs. any suggestions?

Same problem. When I try to load the app made with buzztouch into eclipse I get nothing but errors. Can anyone explain how to add the downloaded file into eclipse indigo without all these errors? (the information on the blog, youtube seems to be out of date). I am beginning to think that I need to download all the previous sdks, so I can follow all of the information written at that time, this can't be true?

You don't upload source code files into Eclipse. Not knowing this threw me for a loop several times and made it difficult to understand what was going on. You tell Eclipse where your source code files are. Hope this helps.

No not really. I put the opened zip from buzztouch into the android sdk samples file. Hoping that would help but it has not. And downloaded the google api, but still problems.

I'm supposing you have Eclipse setup, otherwise see Marks pdf. I use Eclipse Classic, hope there's not too much of a difference. Be sure Eclipse knows where your source files are. This post http://wp.me/p1ZRa7-2M will help you with creating the files. Eclipse is very mature, therefore the problem is in the setup. If all else fails retrace your steps from the last known success.

Hi @andrewbennetts, The PDFs mentioned a few posts above should do a fairly good job of walking you through the process. Please make sure you have everything set up correctly, unzip the files in whatever location you want (I have a Buzztouch folder), and then navigate there to open up your project. Let us know if you have specific questions on things that are not working. Thanks! Mark
