want to make sure i'm not wasting my time

I was able to borrow a macbook pro with OS 10.7 on it, so i had to use xcode 4.6.2 I'm having problems with semantic issues, related to NSFoundationVersionNumber_iOS_6_1 and setSeparatorInsert. My guess is that xcode 4.6.2 may be too old to use the BT package i downloaded. Should i try to get a newer computer to do this to save some headaches? Thanks, jason

Not sure what your error is, but imho, current Buzztouch should be OK with that version of xcode for testing purposes. If you are going to hit a hurdle, I think it will come when trying to submit to the app store; that may be when the later xcode may be required. That laptop should be capable of taking the mac upgrades to get you up to the latest, but having said that, the owner may not be upgrading for a reason!

I actually downloaded xcode 4.6.3, and it says it came with the iOS 6.1 sdk. Can that be updated to a later iOS SDK? thanks, jason

I don't think you'll be able to download any newer SDK's than that. And that will severely limit the number of people who can install your app. Bummer, but that's the way Apple rolls! Mark

get a mac with the latest OS and Xcode if you are serious about giving this a go! No need to have unnecessary headaches!

Can your borrowed macbook not be upgraded to the latest OSX?. I think it's free.
