Android - nothing showing up in Emulator

Hello All, Hope someone can help me with this. I came over from Appmakr and am trying to re-create my apps here. They are mostly RSS apps with other iOS functionality. As I am waiting to get a Mac I am trying to re-do the Android versions first. When I load the project in the Android Emulator there is nothing showing up for the RSS feed or the Photo screen even though I have those configured correctly. The Menu screen is the only screen that seems to work. I have searched for an answer on the forum but couldn´t find anything. Am I missing something? Geraldine

Hi Geraldine, The RSS and photo screens weren't finished for v1.5 Android. We never got to phase 2 as outlined in the README.txt file in your project download folder. But i'm not sure that nothing should be showing up after compiling. I thought that there would at least be something displaying, such as a popup asking the user to view a .java file. Did you ever get the 'Hello World' test app to run on eclipse? http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/hello-world.html

Hi Parker, Yes, I got the Hello World test to run OK. The Menu screen works OK and updates when I make changes but when I click through to the RSS tab or Photo tab nothing shows up (and, yes, I know the feeds work OK as they are running now in my Appmakr Apps.....lol). I was hoping to be able to re-create these apps and add more design by using Buzztouch. I will be getting a Mac this week so will try out the iPhone option. Geraldine

Hi Geraldine, Feeds that worked in AppMakr don't always work well in Buzztouch. For example, I had some Youtube feeds that worked in AppMakr, but not in Buzztouch. I had to change the syntax of the Youtube RSS query, then view the source page in Firefox so I could figure out what changes I needed to make in XML Element Data-Points in Buzztouch. Final results are great. Buzztouch gives much more control over how RSS feeds display. This was with iPhone development. I haven't tried it for Android yet. Hope this helps, Merle

Hi Merle, Thanks, I will be trying out the iPhone version over the weekend so let´s see if it only happens with the Android emulator. Geraldine
