Is it possible to display an existing forum?

I am trying to create an app for a local car forum. I have some experience in C++, but it has been about 10 years since I have done any programming. Needless to say, I am VERY rusty at it and thought I could use some assistance, in the sense of using a visual-type programming tool. Before I dive too deep in to the app builder, is it possible to simply build an app that will access a web forum that is currently online? If so, what are going to be the requirements? I am sorry, if this is covered, but I tried a few searches and couldn't come up with anything. Thanks in advance, Brandon

If the app is only going to display a forum, you may get some resistance from Apple, since there are apps such as Tapatalk that allow a nice display of most major forum softwares. Also, there is the option of creating a webapp, or shortcut to a forum using a mobile theme (again, available for most major forum flavors). But to go back and answer your question. If I were doing it, I'd make sure to install a mobile theme to the forum itself, and build the app around a webview of that. Fully capable within buzztouch without having to break out the C++ skills.

Local car forum: Seems logical. @Stobe's remarks are spot on, consider why your app should be an app in the first place (and not a simple mobile webpage) and dream up some reasons to justify it as 'software' on an iOS or Android device. I can think of a few ways to do this. To enhance your forum, that would live inside your app, you could... a) Use some nice image gallerys to explore cool cars. You curating these images would make a huge difference. Quality images, grouped by category. b) Videos just like above make sense here. c) Fun car quizzes d) Allow users to upload photos to showoff their cars. You'll want to jump on the Early Adopter list your control panel so you can start using the more advanced buzztouch v1.5 (you're on v1.4), it's far more flexible and will help you create something more than a simple app. Lastly, don't be intimidated with exploring, tens years of dust will fall off very very quickly and you've already done lots of the hard work - you've started! Welcome aboard and good luck.

I subscribe to the above statements as well. Take a look at my app: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/doua-roti/id475511428?mt=8 It is free. I embedded a forum with a mobile skin inside a custom URL screen. But that alone would not have been enough to pass Apple's reviewers. Best of luck. Vali
