are you using one of your own boxes for hosting, or a hosting account?

does the hosting account have a control panel such as cpanel? You can usually log into it using www.youdomain.com/cpanel Or is it a windows hosting account?

ok, if it has CPanel, then the process is much easier than what you have set off to do. If you hosting account is running Cpanel, you already have PHP running and MySQL. There may be some PHP limitations, but that can be handled later. Here's a quick and dirty how-to : 1. Login into Cpanel at your domain (as stated before, usually www.yourdomain.com/cpanel or www.yourdomain.com:2082 ) 2. Find the MySQL databases menu from CPanel's main menu - and enter it. 3. In the MySQL Databases menu, you will perform 3 steps a) Create a database and give it a password (it will usually be called YourCpanelUserName_DatabaseName - where you give it the DatabaseName, and it appends your cpanel username to the front) b) Create a database user and give it a password (again, it should be called YourCpanelUserName_DBusername) c) Towards the bottom of the menu, there is a place to Add a DB User to a Database. Add the user you just created to the database you just created. 4. When installing BT-Server, you will need to remember the database name and password, and the username and password. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

it looks like your servername is being reported as aaronscave.ipagemysql.com Maybe try that instead of localhost

I tried that too. No go. Question though. After I created the database, should there be files for this database on my root folder of the server? Because there isn't. Only my BT server folder is there.

I don't think you usually see the files in your root. They are saved as part of the mysql server. Assuming you are using iPage for hosting, try these links: http://www.ipage.hostrehearsal.com/knowledgebase/read_article.bml?kbid=7137 http://www.ipage.hostrehearsal.com/knowledgebase/beta/article.bml?ArticleID=1379&type=How%20To#Nugget_1463 the second link relating to adding the user.

Appreciate you helping. Looks like I may be stuck here though. Maybe try another host.
