ok... had a couple of errors during the validation phase - no suitable app in itunes connect - turned out that although I had set up the app in the iTunes Connect, I hadn;t clicked ready to upload button in top right corner... once I had, the status changed to waiting for upload, and then the validation went right through ^_^ currently uploading, it may take some time as it is rather large ill keep you guys updated
