v1.4 app Offline

Hi there, I have created a simple app with only single images (no maps/links/html etc). Is there a way to ensure this is 100% offline after a user downloads it? Thanks for your help.

Hi pf.82, Not with v1.4. Files loaded to a v1.4 app are hosted on our backend, and will need internet access to load those files. This is part of the reason we created v1.5. Sign up to be an Early Adopter (you'll see a link in your 'my account' tab) and you can create v1.5 apps where the content can be entirely embedded and not require an internet connection (after the initial install) to work.

Hi Parker, Thanks for this. (and appologies, after refreshing the page it reposted) I'll sign up to the early adopter program however I have 200+ images uploaded into v1.4, which had to be done 1 by 1. Is there any way I can transfer the images across to v1.5? Or is there a way to bulk upload images in v1.5? Thanks for your help.

Sorry there isn't a way to do either at this time. We have been working on a means to upload a .zip file full of images/files to the new BT-Server platform and I believe that is working, but for v1.4 and v1.5 you'll have to manually re-upload them all.

Hi Parker, Ok - I've just entered into v1.5 and have gone to >> Control Panel >> Screens and Menus >> created a Row Title, and selected 'image uploader' however am now unsure how to 'Browse', 'upload' each image. I have no way of uploading to my website and the link 'Upload to buzztouch control panel' isn't working for me. Can you advise how I upload the images?

Images wil be uploaded by the user of your app when they access that screen. You'll need to create a script to do this and have a server to store the images. There is more information and a sample script in the Documentation. http://www.buzztouch.com/docs/v1.5/screen_imageUploader.php It is probably a good idea to go through the entire Documentation document and to watch some of the videos in the Help section of this website.

Hi Parker, Thanks for the info. I'll go through the documentation. One other question, as the app needs to live offline, how will this work if the images are stored on a server somewhere? They need to live within the app don't they? Appreciate your help.

Yes, any files that you wish to have access to offline will need to be embedded within the app itself. Meaning that when it comes time to compile your app to run it on a simulator or on an actual device that you will need to manually add the images (or other files) to the project before compiling. Any time after that where you add/remove/or update embedded files you will need to recompile.
