Presentation on Buzztouch

I joined a local mobile club, and told a few of the club members about how I put up a number of apps using Buzztouch. The leader of the club has asked me to do a presentation on my experiences with Buzztouch to the group. Has anyone on the forum done a slide show or presentation on Buzztouch that they are willing to share with me? Thank you!

Just take a few screeshots of your apps & the steps in creating an app. You could do that in 15 minutes tops. This blog will tell you the how to & why about getting screeshots from your Droid devices. https:// myskylla.wordpress.com/ 2011/12/02/screenshot-capture-everything-you-need-to-know/

Hi Sue, sounds fun. I've done a few of these and wish I could join you in MN. Can't afford a ticket! A few ways to do it really. I like doing the live demo thing but it can run-on and you may lose the attention of some with this approach. Depends on the size of the audience usually. If you're going to build an app 'live' in front of them, prepare some image assets, a few screens, and some notes so you can quickly assemble the app without having to do much design work on they fly (slows things down). PowerPoint's not usually effective but can be wih the right crowd / room. If you put an outline together of what you hope to present I'm happy to help with some details. Not sure what you may want / need help with? Happy to do what I can. Including Skype In to the group if you want. Gone most of the weekend but I'll keep my eye on this. d.

I think I will try both th slide show and the demo--keep the slide show short, and then show them around the Buzztouch website. The presentation isn't until the middle of January, so I have some time to put something spiffy together. I will be sure to share it it the Buzztouch community, and show you a draft.

For what it's worth, my experience is that if you jump as quickly as possible into demo the product, people will crowd in to see. People love live demos. Also, to really wow them, have them download one of your apps onto their own iPhone or Android first. Do that at start. Then modify the app to say Hi there everybody!!. Or take their picture and upload it to the app and let them see themselves. Crowds love that kind of thing. Sounds like fun!

Thank you, Thomas! That is an excellent idea. I have a perfect Buzztouch app for that purpose, because it uses a lot of Buzztouch options. One constraint I have is that I don't have a Mac laptop. I think the most interesting thing I could do is show how you can make a change on-line on Buzztouch and then display the change on X-code. Maybe I need to buy the Macbook Pro....Its's a good excuse! I can ask everyone at the meeting in December to download the app for the presentation in January.

http://www.whitebuffalosolutions.com/WhiteBuffaloSolutions/Blank.html Above is a link to the draft slides I put together. David, should I include the TM after buzztouch? Also, I used a lot of quotes and graphics from your website--if you don't like this I can rewrite in my own words. One more question--I think it would be cool if I put the buzztouch logo on each page, and then did the magic move between pages with the logo as the centerpiece. Would that be ok? My plan is to move through these slides very quickly, and then do a demo of an app using the ideas of Thomas. I don't think I will try to build an app in front of them--just show them how you can modify an existing app and how you can use simulator with Buzztouch. Thank you, and happy new year! I hope you all aren't working on New Year's Eve like I am. (But it is what I love to do!)

Ok, I did the presentation yesterday, and it went very well. As a newbie to iPhone development, it was an honor to know about something that the experienced developers did not know about. It was a way I could give back after all I learned from them. Really, no one had heard of or used buzztouch, and this is a very connected group. It shows the potential for the buzztouch market. There were technical questions I couldn't answer very well, but overall the group was very impressed with what buzztouch could do. I first did a PowerPoint, and then did a demonstration. The PowerPoint went better than the demo--it takes nerves of steel to operate Xcode, buzztouch, and the simulator in front of a group. But the group liked it. Is it ok if I include a link to the presentation on my website? Here is the link: http://www.whitebuffalosolutions.com/WhiteBuffaloSolutions/About_Us.html If so, maybe others can use it.

I think I would do the demo again, but practice more. It was a bit nerve wracking.
