PDF Doc Page Opens a SMS Message. Droid v1.5

OK, pretty frustrating now as I've triple checked the settings of each pdf page i've added and the files have been copied into the assets/docs folder. within the project and compiled onto the device. The App works great so far but these pdf documents, when clicked open a blank text (SMS) message. I've looked into whether it's an on-going issue with v1.5 but I thought the .pdf part was working as it should do. Any help at all would be really fantastic. Many thanks David

Hi David, The PDF screen in Android v1.5 is not completely functional from what I can tell. I believe this is in their queue of work items. Frustrating...yep...as I have an app I can't deploy until it's ready also. Thanks! Mark

Hi Mark, Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate it a lot just knowing someone else is in this position too. I've got quite a few features waiting on Phase 2 of the roll-out. Let's hope they get it out soon hey. Thanks again, David

A work around is to post the pdf to your webpage and link via url. I also would like this screen, but so happy to have BT, I've got no complaints, just praise.

I never considered that until now, that's not a bad idea for most as it'll make it easy to update the pdf and issue it again easily. Don't think it'd be good for me as I need some of my pdfs local becuase my users wont have internet access sometimes.

The reason I did not go that route was because some of my PDFs are in excess of 10MB. That's asking a lot for a user to download over the internet...so the only thing that makes sense is ship it locally. Mark

Yes, I agree, I have an app for outdoor use (in the mountains) so I've converted some pdfs into html which I placed into the app. You may lose some quality during the process.

What app is that? As an outdoor person, it sounds intriguing! Mark
