PDF uploads in 1.5?

I am still having trouble uploading PDF docs to my app in 1.5. I was told at one point that there was not support throughout BuzzTouch for that as of yet. Has this been remedied? I am adding the document into the documents folder and then pasting the file name into the blank field on my screen in BT but when I refresh my app on my device and navigate to the page it tells me that data for the page has not been downloaded and to check my internet connection.

Hi edwardsmj, If this is for v1.5 on Android, then I don't think this has been worked out yet, as I'm having the same issue with one of my apps. The self-hosted server rollout has prevented them from continuing on with their v1.5 work...but soon, I would hope! If it's for iPhone, it should work just fine! Mark

It is for iPhone and is not working at all. So any ideas where I could be going wrong? I am having the same issue with all images as well and it is getting really frustrating. Images that I can point to a URL work fine but if I try to upload them in BuzzTouch from my computer it won't work

Additionally, as an update, an image worked when I uploaded it for my splash screen but nothing else. Then when I attempted to change my splash screen image it wouldn't work again but if I change it back to the original image it does work. This makes no sense.

It sounds to me like you're adding your documents and images to your BT_Docs and BT_Images folder, but then forgetting to add them to your Xcode project! All you have to do is drag them from your folder, using Finder, into the same folder in Xcode. You'd don't need to copy the actual image, just have it reference it. Then clean and build, and everything should work! In short, all the files you see in your actual BT App folder should show up in your Xcode folder view as well. Let me know if that works! Mark

I am adding them to my Xcode project and then copying them to the BT project folder when prompted and it still isn't working. I did read your how-to and the only thing you did differently was add them to each of those folders separately. would that have any effect on my result?

Hi @edwardsmj, So, if you've verified that they show up in both the project and your BT folder on your hard drive, then you should just have to do a Clean, and then Build, and the PDF files should now be on the device (or in the simulator). You might want to try deleting previous builds of the app from your device or simulator. Let me know how it goes! Mark

What do you mean by a Clean? I have not done that. I have closed the simulator and done a build but not a clean.

In Xcode 4.2, go to Product...Clean (or Shift-Cmd-K). That gets rid of any old links or dependencies that might be causing problems. Then you can do a Product...Build for your device or the simulator. Thanks, Mark
