allowing user to set marker from GPS location

Hello, I have an idea for an app but it involves allowing the user to set a marker, or waypoint from within the app. My thoughts would be that the user takes a picture to set a point (using the phones GPS) and then you can view the points, add information to them, etc. I realize that this is beyond the scope of Buzztouch, but how much of the coding could be done here? Am I able to build the interface and launch the mapping features from a button I create within buzztouch? does anyone have any examples of how they have incorporated custom code within a buzztouch interface? I would also like to be able to launch Notes from within an app for journaling purposes, but this is not an app I can find info on. is there a better option? I have a feeling this may be way beyond what I am capable of, but hey I like a challenge. Jim

Hi Jim, You could try creating HTML pages to capture text and other information and have it sent to a database to be retrieved and displayed later on another screen. HTML is typically easier for non-programmer folks to wrap their hands around and in combination with some .php scripts and a database can be quite powerful. Try a google search on posting data to a .php script and sending that data to a database. See if you can figure out something that would work for you.

Thanks, I will try that. I have been looking into HTML a little more and would like to be able to utilize it on a bigger scale. It is funny how this is evolving for me from, from lets just try this, to now wanting to know more about code and building a server. All in a few weeks. Thanks again Jim
