Black screen on device after launched from xCode

But when I go to test it on my test iOS device, I get just a black screen while xCode is running it. If I stop xCode and just launch the app on the device from the springboard, it launches fine and the updates are present. I know I've seen this before, and have fixed it in the past, but the fix is eluding me. I'm using the developer profile for all provisioning options within xCode. I've checked to see if the target device is set wrong, but its set for 3.0, and the device is 4.2.1 (i know, i need to update that, lol) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
