This is my first attempt at developing an app of any kind and thus far I have managed to install eclipse, buzztouch server, plugins & required software. MY PROBLEM: The android emulator in eclipse will load and does not note any errors but when I click on the app icon, I receive the following error Something's not right - there was a problem loading the app's configuration data - see LogCat. This being my first attempt I obviously don't know what to look for but I am not seeing any errors? Any suggestions or links to previous form discussions would be greatly appreciated? JP

Hi JP, Therevare some LogCat isetup instructions in the README.txt file in your app project download folder. That should help you set it up so you can npost back here with the error you're receiving.

nothing... I have been able to get the app icon to appear and loads black screen. Unable to get menu or splash pg to appear after reading docs and methods used by others to resolve similar issues? I think this is a simple fix for someone with a bit more experience, unfortunately I'm not that person. I had no problems getting this to work on the buzztouch.com but when I installed BTv1.5 on my servers no luck. Just trying to get a better understanding so I can move on to actually doing something? Again any advice would be appreciated.

Jp,what do you mean by, I installed BTv1.5 on my servers? Are you trying to load a v1.5 app on to your server? Because that will not work.

No - My apologies for posting incorrect info. I installed the BT-server last night and attempted to basically create the same app that I created on buzztouch (1.4). I was able to install fairly easily but not able to produce any apps. I noted another thread started today by someone experiencing the same problem (BT Server - Compiled Android App displays blank screen) so not quite sure where to start to try and find a fix? Any ideas? So currently I have been able to reproduce the training/demo app using buzztouch.com (v1.5), download & install the BT-server but only able to produce a black screen. At this rate ill be cranking out some angry bird like apps in no time huhh.. thanks for your assistance! JP

Did you follow the instructions.pdf document in your project download folder?

Yes.. I have been able to get started utilizing (BT.com v1.5) but I note that other people seem to be experiencing the same (blank screen) problem when attempting to move from the BT.com to BT-Server via a self hosted server. At present I am following the threads related to BT server issues while continuing to familiarize myself with how everything functions.... Thanks for the followup... Just to be sure, did you ever get the 'Hello World' test app to run? There are Eclipse installation instructions available here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html I just want to double check that eclipse is setup and running properly. Also, what version of BT-server are you running? The latest is 2.1.2 and your issue may be resolved by installing the latest version.

Yes I was able to get the Hello World app to run from BT.com not from BT-Server. After reviewing installation instructions I figured it may be a common problem that has not been resolved. I installed the latest BT-server 2.1.2. I will re-visit tonight to see if I can make some type of progress. I don't know if you have had an opportunity to review some of the other threads that seems to be experiencing similar problems but I have been following them as well... JP

Parker, My friend you hit the nail on the head with the above thread. Steveh6883 is experiencing the exact same problems that I am having.
