Before You Complain About The Downtime...

* Every site experiences some downtime at some point, especially when they grow as fast as Buzztouch is! * Maybe this is the reason for you to host your own Buzztouch server, if you've been looking for a reason? * The folks at Buzztouch put in a lot of time getting things back online as quick as possible...you can rest assured of that. * Buzztouch is free, so...well...you know how the saying goes. Personally, I think we're getting a PHENOMENAL value from Buzztouch! * It'll happen again at some point most likely (does to every site out there), so good reason to think of contingency plans for your hosted apps. * Buzztouch rocks, and we all know it. I'm sure they would prefer to hear positive comments rather than the easy negative ones. Thanks! Mark

I agree with you 100% Mark. Buzztouch rocks!!!! Funny but just when BT was coming back my 3rd BT app went into review at the App Store and it got approved 15 minutes ago! My app relies on BT big time, since I had about a week to build it and pretty much hosted all the data in the BT server. I will create a new version as soon as I have my BT server 2.0 working. By the way, I know you are very active in the forums and I assume that you are testing the BT server, have you been able to build any iOS apps on it yet? Regards M.

No complaints at all - Buzztouch is AWESOME!! In fact, would it be helpful if any of us who have profited from Buzztouch suggested something like an assessment that could financially help Buzztouch? I would and will very willingly pay a premium to help keep Buzztouch going, if necessary. And one question, if I may. Is the multiple choice quiz on the drawing board for buzztouch server?

Hi M, I've been installing all the builds and plugins, and testing that part of it, but no apps yet. I was waiting for a few screen plugins to be ready....which I see they are now...so time to build a couple apps. I'm sure you'll be seeing some forum posts from me as I work through issues! @Daniel, I'm pretty sure they have a business plan to make some money eventually. But for now....I think keeping them supplied with pizza and coffee is the best thing we cando for them! Perhaps we need to establish a food fund for all those late nights coding! Props to both of you for the positive comments in light of the downtime...I'm sure they appreciate it! Mark

You guys sure make this easy. Got a nap this afternoon (after getting most of the kinks out) but back at it tonight. If I find the energy I'll try to write some fun stuff about what we had to get through. Still can't believe how long it takes to restore when the data sizes are so extreme. Really need to work out a better disaster recovery plan. 15 hours is NOT cool. @Daniel LaRusso: Plugins priority is list. These are being worked out now and will also be useful in v1.5 for Android... 1) Finishing Settings screens (gps, device info, login), three plugins here 2) Next is a few basic button menus (vertical, horiztonal, grid), these will be unique plugins, not the same overly complicated button menu we have today 3) QUIZ - whoo-hoo. 4) Image Gallery 5) Image Uploader 6) A few more list menus (header image, etc) ... ...

David, Thanks for all you do! Can't say enough good things about Buzztouch. Question: Buzztouch Server does not seem to work on iOS. Downloading the source shows a blank screen and blank nav bar that is missing the refresh button and title. Are we missing something or is it still cooking? I'd like to move to my self-hosting platform asap to relieve the strain on buzz touch.com and help insulate from outages. Is it too early to move? Thanks again! Couldn't do any of this cool stuff without your work! Andy
